2018 Mini Masters Meet

This year will be our 2nd Annual Mini Masters Meet for the benefit of the 2018 Tampa Bay Frogman Swim will be January 7th, 2018. 100 % the fees will go to the benefit of the Tampa Bay Frogman Swim will be used to provide injury assistance to Navy SEALs and tragedy assistance for families who have lost a loved one in training or combat.

We had a great turn out last year, and we look forward to seeing everyone again. We are also heading to Tampa Bay Brewing Company on Tampa Rd & Racetrack Rd after the meet. The meet timeline is approximately 1 hr warm up and 1 hr of racing.

The 500, 1000, and 1650 will be held as a combined event. We will seed according to intended distance.

2018 Tampa Bay Frogman Swim Masters Mini Meet

Any swimmer entered in the meet, unaccompanied by a USA-S/USMS member coach, must be certified by a USA-S/USMS member coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. It is the responsibility of the swimmer to ensure compliance with this requirement.

Changing into or out of swimsuits other than in locker rooms or other designated areas is not permitted.

Type of Meet: Age Group and Senior 25 yards, Timed Finals

Date and Time: January 7th 2018
Warm-up: 10:00 am
Timed Finals: 11:00am-12:15 (estimated)

Location: Cantonis Pool 4811 Kelly Rd Tampa Fl 33615

Pool Specifications: Outdoor certified 8 lane 25 yard pool, with non-turbulent lane lines. Minimum water depth at start end and turn end of the pool is 5ft 3inches

Timing System: Colorado Timing System with Scoreboard

Warm Up: One hour session prior to the meet. The diving well will be open for warm up and warm down during the meet.

Eligibility: Open to all 21+. On deck registrations will be allowed.

Seeding: 25 yard short course times will be used for seeding

Scratches: No penalty for scratching on the blocks in pre-seeded time final events

Entry Fee: $20 flat fee per swimmer

Entry Limit: Limited to (3) three individual events and (3) relays. Over entries will automatically be dropped when they exceed the meet limit, 150.

Deck Entries: Deck entries will be accepted with a $20.00 flat charge, if not already registered. No new heats will be added. Event limit still applies. Already entered events cannot be deleted to deck enter others.

Awards: No Awards at this Meet, ata boys and high fives possible.

Rules: Current US Masters Swimming Technical Rules and Regulations will govern the conduct of this meet. Safety rules, as outlined by US Masters Swimming and as recognized by the meet marshal, will be in effect during all warm-up session and in diving well. NO EQUIPMENT WILL BE ALLOWED DURING WARM UPS

Camera Zones: Per Florida Swimming Rule223.12,Meet Management shall designate and inform the public of “Camera Zones” at each swim meet where both still photography and video photography of a race or a competitor in a race may be taken. Acceptable “Camera Zones” may include, but are not limited to the side courses of a pool, team gathering areas, concession area, turn-end of competition course when not in use as a “start-end,” etc. Meet Management shall also designate “Non-Camera Zones. ”Under NO circumstances will Camera Zones include the area immediately behind the starting blocks at either end of the racing course(s) while they are in use for “race starting purposes ”during competition and warm-ups, locker rooms, restrooms, or any other dressing area. Any individual failing to abide by this rule could be subject to the Florida Swimming Code of Conduct violation as defined in Rule 239.2.

Warm-up Schedule

Absolutely no equipment at any time

Swimmers must enter the water feet first with at least one hand in contact with the pool deck except when executing a controlled racing start, supervised by a coach.

THERE WILL BE A 90 MINUTE WARM UP PRIOR TO THE MEET. THE FIRST 70 MINUTES WILL BE
GENERAL WARM UP AS FOLLOWS:
